After you have gone to Web Advisor

1. Click on Log In at the top. A new screen will prompt you for your User ID and Password.

Type in your User ID and password and click submit.

User ID = first name_middle initial_last name
(all lower case & include underscore)

ie: john_e_smith

Password = last 4 digits of SSN (1st time you log in only)
(You must change your password on the first login)

  • Your password must be 6-9 characters and a combination of letters and numbers.
    Example: train5, do not add any spaces. Remember to enter a hint when changing your password.
  • If you receive the message, “Your password has expired.” Login again with your current password and you will be taken to the ‘Change Password’ screen or you can select “Change my password” and follow the instructions listed.


2. When you have logged in successfully, the screen will say “Welcome (your first name),” then select the “Students” box in middle right of the screen.

3. Under the Registration section, select “Register for Sections”

4. Choose either Express Registration or Search and Register for Sections

 


Express Registration

(Choose “Express Registration” ONLY if you know the exact course information. If you know the course and section number or the synonym you can use Express registration. Course and section numbers or synonyms can be obtained from the credit schedule. Be sure to enter the term and submit. Skip to step # 5 if you are using Express Registration.)

Choose “Search and register for sections” if you DO NOT know the exact course and section number. Enter the term and at least 1 variable about a class to search for a section. Leave the Course level blank – click submit. This will produce a list of all the classes available given the variables you submitted. Click on the box in front of the class to select the course – click submit.


5. On the next screen, you will see a list of the courses you selected under Preferred Sections. Choose the action you want to perform from the drop down box in front of the class and click submit at the bottom of the page. You are not registered until you have successfully selected an Action.



6. When you have successfully registered for a section, you will see a screen which confirms your request has been processed and all course sections for which you are registered will be listed. When your schedule is final, click on “my schedule” at the bottom of the page and print. Once you are satisfied with your schedule, delete any courses on your preferred list you do not intend to register for by selecting “Remove from List” and submit.

 


Why Can’t I Register Online?

1. Are you using the correct term?

2. What are your completed credit hours? (Located on your online transcript) Online registration is based on completed credit hours. Classes you are currently enrolled in are not included in this total.

3. Are you registered in the current or previous term? If you dropped all of your classes, Web Advisor assumes you were not registered, and you will need to register with your advisor.

4. Do you owe the college money? (You must be free of any financial responsibility to the College in order to register) If you are paying today, contact the Cashier on your campus to have the hold on your account removed.

5. Have you completed the prerequisite courses?

6. Web Advisor will allow you to repeat a class twice before you will be stopped from registering for it. If this is the 3rd or more time you have taken a course you must register with a “DROP/ADD FORM” and complete a “REPEAT COURSE FORM”. This includes anytime you have received a grade including ‘W’ grades.

7. Is this the first time you are registering for a class at SCC? (You must register in person.)
